About Us

"Win-win sees life as a cooperative, not competitive arena."

- Stephen R. Covey

Electronic Game Solutions, Inc. (EGS) is a privately held company whose managing partners are working partners. With over 60 years of combined experience, the owners of EGS have worked in every aspect of the bingo electronics industry from manufacturing, national distribution and local distribution to bingo hall ownership and operation.

John Smolic, President and CEO

Mr. Smolic started in the bingo electronics industry in 1991 by placing bingo electronics for a different manufacturer in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Settling in Pennsylvania in 1993, Mr. Smolic started and still owns his own local distributorship. He introduced the first hand-held electronic bingo devices to charities throughout Western Pennsylvania. Because of his experience as a distributor he understands the need for reliable products and the importance of being associated with a manufacturer who cares about the success of each of its distributors.

"A distributor's job shouldn't be making repairs or having to constantly watch over his or her shoulder." says Smolic, "A distributor's job is to place the product and make profits. Unfortunately I see too many distributors working extra hours making repairs and too many manufacturers giving product to the newest/highest bidder. As a distributor, I've personally experienced fixing units that don't work, and the stress of dealing with competition with the same product in the same territory. At EGS we market only reliable products, and only create relationships with customers that are beneficial to all involved."

Mr. Smolic's responsibilities include marketing and creating long term relationships with local distributors, hall owners and charities that are profitable and win-win to both EGS and each organization individually.

Dean Falvo, National Sales Manager

Since 1991, Mr. Falvo has been in the electronic bingo industry as a local distributor in Cleveland, OH and the surrounding areas. He also worked with another electronic bingo manufacturer as an independent national marketing representative. During his involvement with this company, he saw first hand, the need for a trusting relationship between manufacturer and distributor.

"Your integrity and your relationships are everything," says Falvo, "Before my involvement with EGS; I personally experienced the results of people not staying true to their word which prompted me to strive to become the owner of a manufacturing company. At EGS we believe in team work, and those who are on our team, stay there. We never go back on our word and will never change an agreement without the customer's involvement and consent."

Mr. Falvo's responsibilities include working with local distributors, hall owners and charities to make them more profitable and more secure in their territory by offering hands on assistance with all of their marketing, pricing and distribution needs.

Larry Midows, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Midows has been a partner with Bingo Brain, Inc., the company that originally invented and manufactured the Easy Bingo and Easy Ware products, since its inception in 1986. He became a working partner at Bingo Brain in 1996 and has been involved in the manufacturing process ever since.

"We want to bring to the market the most reliable products at the most competitive prices as possible," says Midows, "The game of bingo has been the same for years. Some manufactures believe they need to make products that are expensive with a lot of bells and whistles to gain market share. We believe that a simple reliable product that is cost effective and just plays bingo reliably is the only product needed. Profit dollars belong in the charities, hall owners and distributors pockets, not in costly and flashy technology that does nothing more than dress up the game of bingo and make it more costly to the end consumer."

Mr. Midows' responsibilities include overseeing manufacturing, Research & Development, technical support and financial management of the company.

Mr. Steve Cardella, Vice President Customer Service

Mr. Cardella has been in the bingo industry since 1982. He started as the owner of the largest bingo hall in Western Pennsylvania. His was the first bingo hall to use electronics in the state of Pennsylvania and understands the need for packaging so that the bingo games make most of the profit.

In 1995, Mr. Cardella started a local electronic bingo distributorship in northwest Pennsylvania which he still owns and operates today.

"Electronics are a double edged sword," says Cardella, "On one side they increase the average spend per player. On the other side, if you put too many cards in the hand set, you will chase away your non electronics players and the bingo games will lose money."

Cardella continues, "Also when placing electronics in a bingo game, the split of the profits has to be weighted heavily on the side of the bingo game. Too often I see manufacturers or local distributors place electronics in a hall with packages and profits significantly benefiting only their interests. At EGS we strive to make sure that we make only a small portion of the profits, assist the distributor to make their fair share, but leave the bulk of the profits to the bingo games themselves."

Mr. Sean Sullivan, Vice President Software and Technology

Mr. Sullivan worked with Bingo Brain, Inc. since 1998 and was responsible for all tech support and repairs. Because of his key involvement with Bingo Brain, he was brought on as a partner with Electronic Game Solutions, Inc.

"The best way to get a customer is through a referral," says Sullivan. "And the best way to keep a customer is through service with a smile. At EGS you will always get a friendly, personal individual on the phone. You will get to know us and we will get to know you. You won't be shuffled between service techs you don't know. We believe that service through a positive personal relationship with one or two individuals keeps customers happy, and happy customers mean long term relationships and referrals."

Mr. Sullivan's responsibilities include overseeing software upgrades and insuring the quality of all tech support and repairs.

The partners of Electronic Game Solutions, Inc. have been working together since 1995. They first worked together as independent national representatives for Bingo Brain Inc. In 1999 they formed a marketing company and became the exclusive national representative for Bingo Brain products. On May 1st, 2002, they formed Electronic Game Solutions, Inc. and purchased the manufacturing rights from Bingo Brain, Inc. to the Easy Bingo and Easy Ware products.

Bingo Brain, Inc. is the creator of the Easy Bingo and Easy Ware products and is the owner of United States Patent #4,768,151 and Canadian Patent #1,288,866.
